Journalism Scholarships

Student publications/journalism scholarships are available for students who contributed to the publication of their high school newspaper or other writing projects. Recipients need not be communication majors; however, they will be asked to enroll in the Introduction to Journalism course during their first year at Dordt and are expected to participate in the publication of the Dordt Diamond, a biweekly student newspaper. An application form, three writing samples, and a recommendation from a person who can attest to the applicant’s writing abilities are required. Journalism scholarships are renewable for an additional three consecutive years provided the recipient maintains a cumulative 2.00 GPA and is an active staff member of the Dordt Diamond, as determined by the student newspaper’s faculty advisor.
